Birds of Prey Part II

The dutch are overcome, and their ship is now commandeered by the crew of the Lady Edwina. The vast riches in the ship's hold is now theirs, but not for long. They make it to the island where Francis Courtney had established a base to resupply and rest. He sends an envoy to the Dutch settlement, demanding a ransom for the governor. Yet the Buzzard, Courtney's partner, betrays him, wanting the riches for himself. He leads the Dutch to Courtney's hidden base, and overcomes him. The British are captured and dragged to a prison. Hal, romantically involved with the governor's wife, is ultimately betrayed by her, as she gets rid of him as quickly as she had got on him. Hal, in my opinion, will not forget this, and will come back for revenge upon her. His loyal bodyguard Aboli shares his anguish, and plots to escape from their prison. The plot is highly developed already, despite it being only 200 pages into the book. If this was some other book, the story would end when the crew escapes from prison and sails away. I suspect there is a deeper part to this novel, as the Buzzard has not made much of an appearance despite his relative importance as a character.
